Matthew Smith

Matthew joined the Northampton office of G W Deeley Limited after completing his A levels, as an Assistant Estimator in 1992. Whilst working for the company, Matthew attended a series of day release training courses which concluded with the attainment of a First Class BSc Honours degree in Construction Technology and Management from DeMontfort University in Leicester.

During his time with Deeley, Matthew has progressed from Assistant Estimator to his current role as Pre-Contract Manager with responsibility over the estimating team and associated roles. Matthew continues to  provide cost planning and value engineering advice on some of Deeley Group’s major negotiated schemes, providing a true partnership approach. Overseeing the production of net cost estimates for tendered works and in-house developments as well as pre-contract negotiations and cost plans, during Matthew’s 30+ years’ experience in the industry he has worked on a wide variety of projects including retail, commercial, residential, education, health, government, and security facilities.

Matthew is married with three daughters and is a keen photographer and karate practitioner.
