A growing church in Hampton is set to benefit from an extended car-park after the completion of a supported living development in the area.
Christ the Servant King Church was built in 2014 and has seen major growth over the last decade, with the church attracting more than 250 parishioners on a Sunday.
Deeley Construction is building a £19.6 million supported living development of 80 new apartments for specialist housing provider Anchor near to the church.
At the start of the development, Deeley Construction required parking for their vehicles in the local area to limit disruption to the local community.
The church had a plot of land which they had been gifted for development and it has partnered with Deeley to transform the space into an extension of its existing car-park.
The car-park will be handed back to the church for community use following the completion of the development.
Deeley Construction flattened the land and landscaped the area to enable it to be used as a car-park, with the church already using the space at weekends.
Reverend Rachel Hilditch said: “It is no exaggeration to say that parking has been one of the main hindrances to the growth of the church. It means we can be accessible to more people and continue to welcome new people to our community.
“There aren’t many community buildings in Hampton so we hire out the hall as much as we can to support events and we also run a coffee shop four days a week.
“We host groups for people across the local community, from the toddler group to slimming world, this really is a community hub for Hampton.
“It is thanks to the partnership with Deeley Construction that we have been able to extend the car park. The team has been a joy to work with. They have been responsive when required and we look forward to continuing our partnership.”
The supported living development at Silver Hill will comprise a mix of 32 one bed and 48 two bedroom apartments and is being delivered via the Homes England framework.
