Exemplar Health Care, one of the country’s leading nursing care providers for adults living with complex needs, has marked the official opening of Woodside Place care home, located on Woodside Avenue.
Cutting the ribbon was Jennifer Fayle, the first resident to move into the home. Jennifer welcomed guests into her home with a tour of the building, followed by a heartwarming speech thanking the staff for their dedication to residents.
Woodside Place care home is Exemplar Health Care’s first home in Shropshire and supports adults living with complex mental health needs, dementia, neuro-disabilities, and physical disabilities. The new care home has created 100 new jobs and supports people living with complex needs through nurse-led, community-based care.
The home has 33 large bedrooms, each with an en-suite, split across three units. With this small group living model, the home can provide a homely and supportive environment that’s fully responsive to people’s needs. The home will also have communal dining and living spaces, an activities hub, sensory bathrooms, a therapy room, salon and an accessible garden.

Exemplar Health Care partnered with construction firm Deeley Construction to build the home.

People living at Woodside Place will be able to access a wide range of personalised and therapeutic care designed around their individual needs. The new team is committed to working alongside residents to support their independence in ways that reflect their individual needs and preferences, helping them to live fulfilling and enjoyable lives.
