A development of 65 homes which will support older people to live independently has been completed in Oundle.
The Extra Care scheme has been completed by Midlands-based Deeley Construction for leading not-for-profit Extra Care and Retirement Living provider Housing 21.
Roman Court features 24 one-bedroom and 41 two-bedroom apartments which are available for people aged 55 and over for rent or purchase through shared ownership.
Housing 21 organised a pair of open days to mark the completion of the scheme, welcoming members of the public and professionals to see first-hand the high-quality, accessible homes designed to support independent living for older people, with tailored on-site care and support.
The events saw the doors officially opened on Roman Court in a ribbon cutting ceremony, opportunities for guided tours of the scheme and the chance to enjoy refreshments in the recently completed space.
The £14.6 million scheme has been completed in partnership with North Northamptonshire Council and supported by £5.73 million of grant funding from Homes England
The two open days received a high level of public interest and were also attended by representatives from the North Northamptonshire Council, Deeley Construction, Osbornes Quantity Surveyors and Saunders Boston Architects.
It will see residents benefit from a wide range of communal facilities, including a lounge, activity room, laundry, gardens, and a guest room.
The development also includes facilities that are open to the wider local community, including a café and hair salon.
