A deal to unlock a £35.9 million specialist housing community in the West Midlands has won a major regional industry award.
Deeley Group worked with Anchor and TSA Riley to complete a deal to bring forward 137 high-quality one and two-bedroom independent living apartments at Coleshill Street in Sutton Coldfield.
It has been named ‘Deal of the Year’ at the Insider Midlands Residential Property Awards, which were held at Edgbaston Stadium and celebrated excellence across the regional property sector in the Midlands.
Deeley Group provided a turnkey solution to regenerate the former Royal Works site, unlocking the complex brownfield site at speed for Anchor and enabling work to begin.
Within four months of the initial development partner pulling out of the site purchase, Deeley Group had stepped in to renegotiate the land purchase, price the scheme, obtain revised planning and started work on site.
Deeley Group also received praise at the award ceremony for providing an economically viable solution to ensure the building structure was in line with the Building Safety Act 2022.
The specialist housing community is the largest value project delivered in Deeley Group’s 89-year history.
Anchor is the largest provider of specialist housing and care for people in later life in England. TSA Riley is a multi-disciplinary construction consultancy and acted as the employer’s agent for Anchor.
Work is progressing on site on the housing community that will support the diverse needs of Sutton Coldfield’s growing and ageing population, with work expected to be completed in 2026.
Stirchley House, a £17 million Extra Care Housing Scheme in Telford, which has been delivered by Deeley Construction in partnership with Preferred Homes, was also shortlisted in the Social Housing category on the evening.
