Deal sealed for residential site in Leicestershire

Deeley Homes has completed a deal to purchase a residential development site with planning permission for the construction of 55 new properties in Leicestershire.

The 6.15 acre site, three miles west of Asfordby near Melton Mowbray, was acquired through land experts Mather Jamie and construction is due to start in Spring 2020.

The development will include 20 market sale homes, 25 shared ownership homes and 10 rented homes. The first homes are expected to be available by the end of next year.

Asfordby is well-connected with transport links to Melton Mowbray, Loughborough and Nottingham.

The village benefits from pubs, takeaway restaurants, a garage post office and convenience store, which are in close proximity to the development site.

There are primary and secondary school options in the vicinity, all of which are rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted, and private education options are also available at nearby Oakham and Loughborough.

Anthony Holt, Group Development Director at Deeley Homes, said: “This is an exciting project that we expect to bring many advantages and a wealth of property options to the local area.

“We’re building a mixed scheme that will encompass both affordable housing and market sale properties, and we’ll be working with East Midlands Housing to ensure that several of the new homes provide a viable housing option for those in need.

“We’ve been very pleased with Mather Jamie, who have been straightforward, open and honest throughout the purchasing process. The team’s experience in land transactions and excellent knowledge of the area have both proved invaluable and made the route to sale completion as easy as possible.”

Mather Jamie Chartered Surveyors were established in 1991 and are based in the East Midlands. The firm is an independent mixed commercial and agricultural practice with a long-established and unrivalled reputation for delivering reliable advice and expertise on residential and commercial developments.

Gary Kirk, Associate Director at Mather Jamie, added: “The Deeley Group secured the acquisition of the site following a competitive marketing process handled by Mather Jamie.

“We are delighted to have secured the sale of the site, which is fantastic news for the East Midlands, with a range of homes to suit families, first-time buyers and working couples becoming available in the next year and a half. We are very much looking forward to seeing Deeley Homes’ plans come to fruition.”
