Design & Build of a new retail unit developed to have a minimum impact on the local environment and blend into its Cotswolds surroundings.
The discount retailer Poundstretcher, required a new store after it’s former premises were demolished to make way for a housing development.
Deeley Construction’s involvement included the design & build of the warehouse, ground floor slab, steel frame and installation of services.
Externally, the store featured a ‘dry stone’ wall which enabled it to match the Cotswold vernacular, as well as a significant amount of landscaping.
An attenuation tank was installed to capture rainwater and slowly release it back into the ground which eases flooding in built-up areas.
Other conservational aspects included the installation of four bat boxes when a family of bats were discovered and root cell tree plantation – ensuring roots go deeper into the ground and do not affect the layout of the surrounding paving.
