An Extra Care Living development for people over the age of 55 providing 60 apartments for affordable rent and 20 apartments for shared ownership.
The new scheme on land at Rockhill Farm was developed by Housing 21 in partnership with West Oxfordshire District Council and Oxfordshire County Council to provide Extra Care apartments for local people.
The residential development site comprised a single 3-storey building that has accommodation split across all three floors and the main communal areas located on the Ground Floor.
The development offers people over the age of 55 a range of services and facilities including a 24 hour on-site care team for those who need it, a residents’ lounge and guest room plus a café/bistro dining area and hair salon, which are both available to the local community.
The project was secured by Deeley Construction via the Homes England DPP3 (Delivery Partner Panel) framework and being built to BREEAM Very Good standard.
The site was located adjacent to a busy Pharmacy, Hospital and Maternity centre, therefore strict restrictions were put on the delivery vehicles entering and leaving site.
Undertaken mainly during the COVID-19 pandemic, the project team worked closely with the client, project team and subcontractors to continue delivery.
