This design and construction of a BREAAM ‘very good’ combined office and six workshop facility supports the development of MIRA’s £300 million technology park
Having previously delivered four R&D Facilities for HORIBA-MIRA on the Technology Park, this scheme is the largest facility to be built by Deeley Construction to date.
As well as the construction of the office and six workshop facilities, the project involved a significant earthworks package to prepare the site. A car park, tenants’ compound and installation of drainage and incoming services complete the works for the new facility.
As the building is situated adjacent to the test track, screening and lighting were designed to reduce glare which could affect test track drivers.
By bringing our own consultants on board at an early stage, we were able to undergo an extensive value engineering process which enabled HORIBA-MIRA to provide additional fit-out works for their incoming tenant.
The building incorporates energy saving features due to a high BREEAM specification and increased building regulations.
