Holly Hall Academy CDT Block, Dudley

Creation of a new craft, design and technology block to expand the schools facilities and aid development of students in coming years.

The steel frame, brick-clad building was constructed on vibro-compacted ground due to poor ground conditions, typical for the area due to the history of mining in the region. The site itself is set on an old colliery mine.

Work involved the creation of a new technology block and fit out to meet the academy’ requirements for new technology, craft and design rooms. These new facilities allowed the academy to further the development of their students and update their existing facilities.

As part of this contract, we were also required to refurbish the school’s existing library.

This design and build contract was kept to budget and was carried out within a contract period of 26 weeks while minimum disruption was caused to the staff and students.
