Bond’s Lodge, Coventry

Deeley Construction were appointed to carry out a new build project at Bond Street, in Coventry’s city centre. The scheme has seen a new three-storey building erected, containing 45 apartments for the elderly.

It is a traditionally built structure of brickwork outer skin, to blockwork inner skin, precast floor slabs and pitted tiled roofs. The foundations were bored cast insitu piles with ground beams for the superstructure. Due to the site restrictions, a tower crane was utilised to construct the building and manage movement of materials on site.

This project involved significant consultation with local residents, businesses and Coventry City Council, to ensure that everyone was aware of the work involved and its ramifications in terms of access and levels of disruption. The site is relatively small for the scale of the project so a lot of time went into planning the best way to approach this, with businesses and residents in mind.
