Building healthcare partnerships for the present and future

By Eleanor Deeley, Joint Managing Director

In recent years we have seen a significant increase in work across the healthcare sector, both in the development and construction areas of our business.

The partnerships we have built underpin that success and are the foundations which will allow us to grow and further establish our reputation as a leader in the delivery of care, extra care and healthcare facilities across the Midlands and surrounding areas.

By delivering high-quality developments for clients, we are constantly strengthening those partnerships and it is resulting in Deeley Group continuing to win tenders to work in this sector.

We are currently forecasting 70% of our total construction work to be in the healthcare sector by 2024 which shows our growth in this sector.

We have developed a number of key partnerships in recent years with national care providers, including Housing 21, Exemplar Health Care, WCS Care, Kingsley Healthcare and most recently Preferred Homes.

Each client has its own unique requirements and our team works closely with our partners to deliver on that vision for the facility by providing design and build expertise and bringing our experience from other developments we have delivered.

One client may, for example, require affordable retirement rentals, another may be looking to provide specialist care facilities, while another may be looking more at the delivery of a luxury care home.

This is where partnerships are so important and through those relationships, we are able to ensure that the facilities we deliver cater directly to the identified needs of the end user.

We are now on site for our third development with Housing 21 in as many years, having successfully delivered Extra Care schemes in Chipping Norton and Didcot, both enabling over-55s to live independently with access to an on-site care team.

The Extra Care facility Poppy Meadows in Didcot was completed ahead of schedule for Housing 21. There are a number of factors which contributed to this but the system of partnership, collaboration and communication between our on-site team and Housing 21 was central to this success.

That strength of partnership is mirrored in our work with Exemplar Health Care. We have recently completed our first development with the established national provider and the strength of that partnership has led to a strong pipeline of five more specialist care facilities.

We help our partners to ultimately deliver a better product and utilise value engineering to complete innovative schemes to the highest quality but as cost effective as possible. Our focus is on delivering lasting value and that leads partners to work with us again and again.

This is shown through our renewed relationship with luxury care home provider Kingsley Healthcare. We are proud to be working with them again this time in Olney, Buckinghamshire. This comes three years on from our last development with Kingsley.

While the requirements of our partners may differ, our core values of integrity, community, respect, agility and partnership shine through in all of our developments and are the foundation for building strong relationships with clients.

We provide an end-to-end service for clients and will identify sites, as well as being a contractor.

By working in partnership we can deliver greater results for our clients, their residents and the communities in which the developments are based. We are aiming to become the developer and contractor of choice for delivering healthcare within the Midlands.

Our collaborative partnership with Housing 21 is discussed in this short film:
