Deeley Construction has worked with Orbit Homes on a range of projects over many years and this is the latest project the two companies have worked on in partnership.
We successfully secured this opportunity via competitive tender through the Places for People DPS (Dynamic Purchasing System).
Deeley Construction has built 45 new homes on a new affordable living site in Southam, Warwickshire. The development consists of 12 apartments and 21 two-bedroom and 12 three-bedroom houses and has a tenure mix of 12 no. – Socially Rented, 18 no. – Shared Ownership and 15 no. for Market Sale.
The build is traditional brick and block construction with timber floors and timber trusses. Deeley used pre-cast floors and stairways in the apartment building. The development also required the creation of new roads and a new pumping station. As well as that, the project required 400m of offsite drainage connections to be created to service the new development along with an attenuation tank to be installed below the play area to collect stormwater.
The client required the delivery of two show homes at an early stage of the contract. We therefore provided a site layout that would ensure the safety of any visiting members of the public whilst construction was ongoing. The first show homes were completed in March 2019, and we therefore managed the logistics of site traffic mixed with the general public until completion in early 2020.
