By working in collaboration with a local authority and housing association, Deeley Group’s combined expertise has regenerated this former schools site to deliver on the affordable homes requirement in the city.
Deeley Group purchased this site, formerly the Dartmouth School, from Coventry City Council with a view of developing for affordable housing.
A planning application was made for 39 following on from our successful development with the Stonewater at Feather Lane, Nuneaton.
The site had a complex drainage strategy to meet which required new drainage to be diverted through a live school site, St John Fisher, which was adjacent and deliver a swale for attenuation at the rear of the site. By working with the school and our appointed consultants, Robothams Architecture and Couch Consulting Engineers, we provided a solution to deliver the drainage strategy and minimise disruption to the ongoing school operations.
The site had reserved matters application which Deeley developed for affordable homes. The homes were constructed using a timber frame structure and was delivered to pre-2022 Part L regulation standards, however they followed the fabric first principles.
Deeley Group’s capability to take a project from reserved matters application, through planning and delivery of the homes has showcased our ability to provide affordable homes and sustainable community.
