Work has been completed on a £15.5 million Extra Care living scheme that will provide 60 new apartments in Faringdon.
Housing 21 welcomed members of the local community and development partners to an open day at Fern Meadows, in Oxfordshire, to celebrate the completion of the development.
Midlands-based Deeley Construction completed the scheme for Housing 21 and it marks the fourth development completed by the partnership.
The new apartments and communal facilities are designed to support independent living for people over the age of 55.
It includes 60 one and two-bedroom apartments which are available for rent or shared ownership.
The development has been designed to promote independence while providing access to on-site care and support when needed.
Fern Meadows includes a spacious residents’ lounge, activity room, café/bistro, hair salon, and beautifully landscaped communal gardens.
Darren Herbet, Deputy Head of Extra Care South at Housing 21, said: “Fern Meadows is a fantastic example of how Extra Care can empower older people to live independently, with the reassurance of support when needed.
