Our approach to sustainability is consistent.
Moving to Net Zero Carbon
We have appointed the services of Carbon Footprint Limited to set our goal for achieving Net Zero Carbon. By engaging an industry expert we were able to produce a Carbon Footprint Standard (TM) for the reporting in the period of May 2020 – April 2021 where we saw 12.21 tonnes of CO2 produced per £1 million spend (Scope 1 & Scope 2 measured).
We have since offset the CO2 produced for the last reporting period by supporting a wind farm project in Maharashtra, India making Deeley Group Carbon Neutral for May 2020 – April 2021.
Investments such as this will help support us on getting to Net Zero Carbon as soon as possible to cut our emissions.
Carbon Footprint Limited have also supported us in our journey by utilising Science Based Targets to forecast our journey and we have set a challenging, but realistic target of 2036 to become fully Net Zero Carbon.
Net Zero Carbon 2036Our work to reduce our carbon footprint includes:
Our Approach to Sustainability
Deeley Group’s commitment to the environment starts from our Head Office. Our self-constructed offices in Coventry have a number of sustainable features:
Delivering Sustainable Communities
Regularly in the Social Housing, Education and Commercial sectors we deliver schemes of high energy performance.
We choose to apply our high standards of best practice to each scheme we work on, regardless of BREEAM or Building Regulation requirements.
Scheme by scheme, we review the possibilities of installing renewable energy technology or designing the structure to ensure it is highly energy efficient.
Working with long standing partnering energy consultants we are designing homes that will meet the new Part L and Future Homes standards.
Measurement
We are signed up to the KPI Hub, a National Federation of Builders initiative from which we measure our CO2 emissions for the entire company.
Statistics are measured against other construction companies, whilst the outputs can highlight areas in which we can reduce our carbon footprint.
