Work is underway on a development of 44 luxury one and two bed apartments on the bank of the River Nene at Southbridge in Northampton.
The scheme located next to the University of Northampton’s Waterside Campus, which will be known as E3 Lion Court, is a five storey block on the main with a river view penthouse occupying floors six and seven.
The development is the first to be undertaken by Northampton based developers H&F Enterprise UK Limited. It is being completed by Deeley Construction on behalf of the developer.
It is expected be ready in autumn 2020 and there is already strong interest especially from first time buyers and in particular, post-graduates and professionals attending and working at the University.

Brickwork students teamed up with a regional construction company to get real-life, on the job experience in Ryton-on-Dunsmore.
Deeley Construction were approached by Ryton Parish Council about a wall that was in need of repair in the village and three students from Rugby College stepped in to help with the community project.
Jeff Annor, Lewis Fordham and Poushigan Savarajan are all brickwork students at the college, which is part of WCG (Warwickshire College Group).
They were tasked with completing a ‘Brick on edge’ course on the walls – which provided an opportunity for the Rugby Colleges Brickwork Award students to get hands on experience of working on a real-world project.
The bricks were provided by the local community, with mortar supplied by Deeley Construction.
Deeley Construction is working in partnership with Waterloo Housing Group, Rugby Borough Council and Homes England, on a £3.9 million development of 21 affordable homes in the village.
The firm is a member of The 5% Club, which focuses on driving momentum into the recruitment of apprentices, graduates and sponsored students.
Edward Hudson, Business Development Manager at Deeley Construction, said: “We were approached by Councillor Steve Witter from Ryton Parish Council about undertaking some remedials to a brick wall near our housing development in the town.
“After agreeing to undertake the work, we recognised it would be a fantastic opportunity to give trainee bricklayers a chance to test out the skills they have developed at college in a real construction project.
“We engaged with WCG, who sent students from their Rugby College site to complete the works – and they did a fantastic job.
“At Deeley Construction we have a long-standing commitment to helping to develop the next generation of construction professionals and look forward to working more with students from the college in the future.”
Rugby College Construction Lecturer Will Dewes accompanied the students on the day and said it is important trainee construction workers gain experience like this during their course.
Will said: “We would like to thank Deeley Construction for coming to us with this great opportunity for our students to assist in a valued community project.
“The students who completed the work are Brickwork Award students, so to gain any hands-on experience like this is vital to their development, allowing them to put what they learn in college in to practice.
“As part of their study programme, our brickwork students are required to complete industry placements and small projects such as this are perfect preparation for those placements.”

Fordham House – a development of high-quality, private rented apartments in Stratford-upon-Avon on which the Deeley Group played a significant role – has won a prestigious, national award.
The Orbit scheme, situated on the corner of Birmingham Road and Clopton Road – which features 82 high-quality homes, picked up the ‘Best Build For Rent Development’ award at the Inside Housing Development Awards.
The awards ceremony, which is now in its third year, took place at the O2 in London and showcases the best in new housing development right across the UK.
Work started on the award-winning site in 2016 and took two years to complete with all apartments now fully let.
The development was brought to market through a partnership between Stratford Town Trust, Orbit, ABD Developments and Robothams Architects, with Deeley Construction as design and build contractors.

Fordham House, which picked up Residential Property of the Year at the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) awards West Midlands earlier in 2019, is owned and managed by Orbit, with Stratford Town Trust continuing to retain the freehold.
A new £6.8 million development that will house older people in the centre of Coventry has hit new heights.
The project, which will be known as Bond’s Lodge, is the final piece of the jigsaw at Belgrade Plaza and is the creation of a three-storey building, featuring 45 self-contained one and two-bedroom apartments for the elderly.
Deeley Construction is working on behalf of Coventry Church (Municipal) Charities to carry out the project, which has been designed by Nicol Thomas Architects, and is expected to be complete in spring 2020.
It is being funded from the Coventry Church (Municipal) Charities’ own resources, fundraising, a grant from Homes England and a loan from the Charity Bank. The development has been awarded to Deeley Construction under the Homes England DPP3 framework.
Many of the partners involved in Bond’s Lodge – as well as John Crabtree OBE, the Lord-Lieutenant of the West Midlands – met for a traditional topping out ceremony which marks the moment that a building reaches its highest point.
And with just a matter of months before it is complete, there are already residents lined up to occupy several of the new homes.

“There is a great deal of anticipation about Bond’s Lodge and it wouldn’t have been possible without the Deeley Group, who have been great partners on this project, which has been talked about for many years and also the support from Homes England.
“It is great to see the dream of adding this to our other Almhouses here in the city centre which provide homes for elderly people in Coventry.”
The Almshouses, now run by Coventry Church (Municipal) Charities, were founded in the early 1500s and today are sheltered housing schemes for elderly citizens in the city.
Since the Second World War, the charity has engaged in two major projects in Hill Street, the building of Bond’s Court in 1985 and the extension of Bond’s Hospital in 2004.
With the completion of Bond’s Lodge, the number of residents will have risen from 11 in 1506 to more than 150 in 2020.
Eleanor Deeley, Deputy Managing Director of the Deeley Group, said: “It is great to see the progress that the team is making on what will be a very welcome addition to Belgrade Plaza, providing much-needed homes for older people in the community.

Work is underway on a new £3.7 million mixed-use development near Aylesbury.
Coventry-based Deeley Construction has started work on a new children’s day nursery, retail unit and 17 apartments in Pegasus Way, Haddenham, in partnership with Henry Davidson Developments.
The scheme, which is on the site of a former airfield, is set for completion in the summer of 2020 and will bring into use the site for the community.
The National Coop has already committed to the convenience store, which will be situated on the ground floor along with a Bright Horizons Nursery and Pre-school, with the two-bedroom homes on the first and second floors.
Steve Turner, construction director at Deeley Construction, said: “We have worked in this area on many occasions previously and this is another scheme that will bring economic and social benefits to Haddenham.
“The scheme is part of a wider development where there are more than 200 houses under construction, some of which are already occupied so we have worked with the developer to ensure those residents are not affected by our work.

We will be doffing our hats in a colourful show of support when Britain’s premier men’s cycling race passes through a Warwickshire village.
The Deeley Group will pay homage to the world’s top cyclists at the OVO Energy Tour of Britain this year, after issuing hard hats featuring the colour schemes of the four race leaders’ jerseys, ready for when cycling’s elite tackle the final Warwickshire stage sprint at Pillerton Priors.
The OVO Energy Tour of Britain will arrive in Warwickshire for the second year running on Friday, September 13.
The south Warwickshire parish will be the site of the third and final Eisberg Sprint, and is home to one of the Deeley Group’s latest homes developments – The Meadows – which features 10 new countryside houses and bungalows.
The colours of the four race leaders’ jerseys – blue for the Cetaphil Points Jersey, black for the Skoda King of the Mountain Jersey, red for the Eisberg Sprints Jersey, as well as the OVO Energy Green Jersey – will all be displayed on industry-standard hard hats as workers complete the final stages of construction at The Meadows.

The 186.5km route includes Warwick, Kenilworth, the University of Warwick, Meridan, Fillongley, Atherstone, Mancetter, Hartshill, Galley Common, Corley, Bedworth, Bulkington, Brinklow, Long Lawford, Bilton, Dunchurch, Kites Hardwick, Princethorpe, Ashorne, Wellesbourne, Ettington, Edgehill, Warmington, Temple Herdewyke, and three ascents of Burton Dassett on a 12km route.
The peloton will head up towards Meriden via Kenilworth and Berkswell, before travelling across North Warwickshire to Bedworth and Bulkington.
Riders will then head south towards Brinklow and the outskirts of Rugby, and back up to Princethorpe before racing along Fosse Way, down to Wellesbourne, and through Ettington and Edgehill.
Three Eisberg Sprints await competitors during the stage, the first at Berkswell, the second at Brinklow, and the third at Pillerton Priors.
Competitors will then face three Skoda King of the Mountain challenges in a gruelling final stretch including two full loops of Burton Dassett County Park before crossing the tour’s first-ever hill top finish line.

A senior Midlands property figure has taken up a new role – and will ensure a respected name lives on.
Eleanor Deeley, formerly a partner at Cushman & Wakefield who headed the Midlands residential team, has been appointed as the deputy managing director of the Deeley Group, a firm started by her grandfather in 1936.
Eleanor has 20 years’ experience in the property industry, including a nine-year spell at director level at CBRE, and has expertise in housing, mixed-use schemes and land development and investment across a range of property sectors.
Her new role will see her guiding the day-to-day operations of the £50 million turnover firm which includes construction, development and housing, as well as developing a longer-term strategy for the company which is based in Coventry.
She said: “I am really excited at the prospect of joining the Deeley Group as it is a company which has played a massive part in my life.
“I can remember going into the offices as a child, so to be going back there as a director having worked for two decades in the property industry is a great opportunity.
“I have seen the company go from strength to strength from very close at hand over decades, but to now be given the chance to help guide its fortunes is a massive privilege.
“My grandfather might have started the company before World War II, but the ethos of developing sustainably and responsibly while always adhering to the highest professional and ethical standards have remained true through the intervening years.”

A new £3.9 million development of affordable homes, which will serve the community in Ryton-on-Dunsmore, is underway.
The Deeley Group, in partnership with Waterloo Housing Group, Rugby Borough Council and Homes England, is creating 21 affordable homes on a brownfield site in the village.
The development, which is situated off High Street in Ryton, was formerly a coal yard but will now be put to use as vital new homes.
The properties will be a mix of two and three-bedroom units with some available under shared ownership while others will be offered on an affordable rent basis.
Deeley Construction has started working on site and the development is set for practical completion in spring 2020, with the homes themselves constructed using an off-site manufactured timber-frame system.
